Chef

Jon Favreau‘s movie Chef is a story that can touch many hearts. It’s a simple story from your and my life. It’s about chasing your dreams, getting lost on the way and reclaiming your path again. Protagonist Chef Carl Casper’s life is his passion for cooking. He is stuck in a place where mediocrity of the routine life comes in his way of getting creative and fulfilling his passion of serving amazing food.

One crazy review by the ‘biggest food critic’ in LA, his tweet disaster with the critic and late his extremely emotional yet funny outburst in the restaurant makes him an overnight loser. His wife and her ex-husband and get him out of his shell and encourage him to start a food truck. What happens post that is something of a dream run.

His son Percy played by Emjay Anthony is such an amazing character. He is today’s kid – all connected and well informed. Yet, he gets on to the food truck with his dad and does all the hard work. The scene where they refurbish the old truck and then later buy the new equipment is really touching.

There are no surprises in this movie, they are not really required. That’s the magic of simple stories.
